Kapila was a learned man, and he chose this particular name
for a reason.
Kapila chose to spend most of his life to find ways to
augment the natural strength of human bodies. His early work of genius was the
turmeric sugar resin that not only temporarily increased one’s agility but also
healed wounds for a brief period. But him and his disciples did not just stop
there.
They then created the Patti Set: which although had
very minimal resistance or protection, still had the ability to slowly head
someone indefinitely. But Kapila was still not satisfied. This led to the idea
of Feast.
Kapila was aware of the fact that his knowledge had let him
amass a great deal of power, but was not succeeding in ways to channel than
powers to others- especially the knights who served not only his guilt, but the
land. Unless, he chose to give away his body.
Which is exactly what he did. He let Jayanth- the
greatest knight and the commander of men- and his immediate to directly feast
on the flesh of Kapila, while letting them use his bones as weaponry.
Soon enough, numerous true protégés of Kapila followed the
same step- offering their bodies to the warriors. Those who wished to differ,
their body was also sacrificed, against their own will. However, the soldiers
who feasted on the flesh of the opposing turned violent, which led to an
internal conflict between the true flesh-bonded and the repugnant warriors. Regardless,
the bones of guild-members made for some fine weaponry.
But things were not as simple. Turns out that the members of
Sahayya feasted on dishes made by Kapila himself (for he was also a wonderful
chef). What everybody didn’t realised was that Kapila used to perform
experiments on his blood, and then mixed it into the food of Guild.
So when the warriors consumed flesh of Sahayyas, the flesh
contained the tentative blood, which lets the spirit of Kapila control their
actions, hence making himself immortal, along with the knights and soldiers. Jayanth-
the first to feast on the flesh, became a direct slave of Kapila, his soul
getting tortured in his own body.
And soon everybody became a puppet, save for one.
One man, a soldier like many, meant to confuse the entire
flesh of a member of the guild.
Too bad he fell in love with a member of
Sahayya. He wanted to marry her (which was forbidden for Sahayyas). He could
not bring himself to confuse her whole, hence he compromised and ate only half
of her. In return, she decided to spend her life- or whatever was left of it-
with this man.
But this man left, promising to come back in a short while.
Of course, he didn’t return. When you reach to this place, the woman asks you
to find whereabouts of her man.
Later on you find out that the man was nowhere to be seen at
the last known position, but you find the repugnant soldiers hunting the place.
Once you deal with them, it turns out the flesh-bonded soldiers have something
to do with the lover of the member.
You tell her this news, and she predicts the worst: Jayanth,
the corrupted knight must have found out the truth about her, and must have
kidnapped her lover to reveal the information. She begs of you to help him, giving
you the option to feast on her one arm, to amass some strength, while getting
to make a piercing weapon out of the ulna.
You go to the region of the flesh-bonded, only to realise
the flesh-bonded have started hunting and abducting the repugnant knights, so
as they could consume their flesh for even greater strength. Repugnant bones
have some unusual strength to them, which the flesh-bonded wish to make use of.
Finally, you get to see the lover of the member, fighting
against Jayanth, who seemed to have grown powerful and corrupted under the
influence of the repugnant flesh. But before you could do anything more,
Jayanth strikes a final blow and kills him. Then, perhaps as a sign of
vengeance, you strike down Jayanth. As a piece of token, you bring the heart of
the lover back to the member.
The member, who now remains at a dying stage, as if the fate
had sealed for their lives to end together, thanks you for bringing down this
curse and choses to end her misery by giving away her own heart, as well.
If you wish, you can fuse both of their hearts together for
an unusual sorcery, perhaps as a token of love that never got a proper
chance.
